Our Annual Hospice Ball and Silent Auction
on February 23rd, 2007 was a huge success. Thank you all who
attended and all who participated in putting on another memorable event!

The 26th Annual Hospice Benefit Ball & Silent Auction
The Hospice Ball Committee is pleased and proud to bring the 26th Annual
Hospice Benefit Ball and Silent Auction to the Missoula community. The
theme, Dancing with the Stars, was chosen for a number of reasons. The
Committee felt it was important to recognize the endless contributions
end-of-life care givers provide, they truly are bright and wonderful
stars. The Committee also wanted to let the Missoula community know that
the overwhelming support of the ball throughout the years has been
amazing, yet again, bright and shining stars. It was also of great
importance to remember those who have been touched by Hospice to be
celebrated as stars.
The proceeds of the ball benefit the Hospice Care Foundation. The
Foundation has assisted in covering end-of-life care for those who did
not have insurance or private funding. The Hospice Care Foundation has
some very exciting and progressive goals in mind for the coming months,
which we will be unveiling very soon. In the meantime, savor all of the
stars this evening.

Big Sky High School Jazz Band
The Big Sky High School Jazz Band has just returned from a Northwest
tour culminating in a performance at the
2007 Music Educators’ National Conference in Portland, Oregon. They were
selected as the top auditioning jazzband from the state of
Montana and one of the top jazz ensembles in the northwest for this
honor. The Big Sky High School Jazz Band
meets as a class every other day for a 90 minute rehearsal. They study
jazz theory, improvisation and jazz/
American history in addition to performing the many styles associated
with the traditional swing Big Band. The
Big Sky band program is under the direction of Leon Slater. It is a
pleasure to have this group of talented young
people at the 26th Annual Hospice Ball.
The Ed Norton Big Band
This eighteen piece group features a full compliment of saxophones,
trombones, trumpets and rhythm section,
and vocalist. The group is comprised of some of Montana’s finest
musicians. The ball crowd will groove to the
sounds of the band as they play tunes from the great swing era. We are
delighted to have the group a part of this
year’s Hospice Ball and hope the crowd enjoys their classic tunes as
they swing the night away.
The Tom Cats
This four piece band is sure to have the Minuteman Aviation Hangar
rocking and rolling with their awesome
sounds. The band is a true crowd pleaser and everyone will recognize the
memorable tunes they play. This high
energy group will have the crowd bustin’ moves like never before. We are
thrilled to have The Tom Cats performing this evening.
